The 1st Wave of Light Memorial Dinner

The death of a baby is not a rare event. It can happen to anyone. Every thousands of people in Uganda are affected by the death of a baby or experience pregnancy loss. 

Pregnancy And Infant Loss(PAIL) awareness is held between 9th-15th October world wide, this year Uganda will take part in the Wave of Light Memorial for the first time ever on 15th October. Families across the world remembering all their babies that died too soon by lighting a candle from 7pm-8pm as well as a lantern release. 

The aim of this event is for bereaved parents, their families and friends to unite with each other and others across the world to commerate the lives of their babies who died during pregnancy, at or soon after birth and in infancy. It's also a platform to call for tangible improvementa in research, care and policy around bereavement support and highlights Vessel Is Me bereavement support services available for anyone affected by the death of a bag at any stage.
