Keegan Williams Music Productions Presents SongBook Of My Life by Keegan Williams, featuring the legendary Allou April live on stage!

Keegan Williams brings inspiration to the Overstrand Community, as he will be rendering his original jazz music live on the 30th and 31st August 2019.

Keegan Williams(born 17 March 1987), a South African Musician, Songwriter, Composer, Producer, Arranger and Multi Instrumentalist from Cape Town...

And Managing Director of a globally cruising Band – Toxic Candy, a Corporate Trio and Duo concept designed for Hotel and Cruise Ship Live Entertainment, founded and launched in South Africa in 2015.

He has been playing music professionally since 2004, touring the world and recording music with various well-known artists by the likes of David Kramer, Jonathan Butler, Judith Sephuma, Jimmy DluDlu, Hassanadas, Loading Zone, Ray Blue, Auriol Hays, Musa Manzini, Allou April and Robbie Jansen, to name a few.

As the youngest of six children, he is the only professional musician in the family. Born in Cape Town South Africa, and raised in Mitchell's Plain, one of Cape Town’s largest developed “townships”, presented with various negative elements such as poverty, apartheid, gangsterism and drugs...

But chose to rise above, drawing from positive energy and influences, focusing on developing his music and art. Determined to make a positive contribution to his future and life, the local community where he lives and the society at large.

He started playing “Drums” from the early age of 2.

Having had limited access to musical instruments, did not discourage him from developing his musical art, his natural love and ear for music.

Back in the day, Keegan would use any available natural source from which he could develop a musical sound and the rest was history. It was always about keeping the music playing.

Music was running through his veins from a very young age and when he finally graduated from Prompt Music School - Athlone Technical College at the age of 16 in 2003, he was very fortunate to break ground, performing and recording with some of South Africa’s finest Musicians and Performing Artist and touring the world with them.

Though the Drums are his first love, he also plays the Acoustic Guitar, Piano Keyboard, Bass Guitar, Percussions, Vocals and his hilarious segways of dance.

His sound direction, is inspired by Afro Inspirational Jazz and his influences came from Smooth Jazz Artist such as Earl Klugh and Jonathan Butler and also Cape Jazz Artist - Robby Jansen, Tony Cedras and Loading Zone.

There is just something different, authentic and honest about pure South African music that draws any crowd in, understanding their culture, its history and the diversity of its people, their entertainment scene and of course their love for dance.

You will find Keegan’s music showcased under the Genre of Jazz, but more specifically so, Afro Inspirational Jazz.

Keegan started his professional music career in 2004 at the age of 17, touring United States of America with a South African gospel vocal harmony group “Ambition”.

He remembers it as "the very first time his gift took him places" - beyond his dream and his local community, traveling the world…and he has never looked back since.

Today he has toured over 47 countries, playing music and doing what he loves.
