The Blyde River Canyon Trail, or Blyderivierspoort Hiking Trail, wends its way through the third largest canyon in the world, and arguably one of the most beautiful.

The Blyde River Canyon outshines every other landmark in the country, bar Table Mountain. A NOT TO be missed event! We usually have waiting list to experience this beauty.

Blyde River Canyon is not only the third largest canyon in the world, it's also the largest 'green' canyon in the world due to its lush foliage.

It's 26km in length and around 800m deep.

Hike Distance: 11 km

Degrees of difficulty: Moderate (All fitness levels)

Arrival: 4pm, 6th of September (Can't book in earlier to the hostel)

Depart: 10am, 8th of September

Weekend Program:

Friday:

• 4pm arrival
• 6pm dinner
• 7pm social around fire

Saturday

• 6.30am breakfast
• 7.30am hike 12km
• 11.30am lunch on hike (please bring your own lunch / snacks for hike)
• 2.30pm arrive back at camp (free time to explore the resort)
• 5.30pm dinner
• 6.30pm social around boma fire

Sunday

• 8am breakfast
• 10am depart

Accommodation :

Hostel, semi private beds. Includes bedding.

Men and Ladies quarters.

Transport:

If there is enough interest, transport can be arranged.

Cost: R600 return

Leaving Friday, 6th : 1pm from Centurion

Departing Sunday, 8th : 11am from Blyde Canyon Resort

What to bring :

Drinks / Lunch for on the hike / Camping chair for Boma social.

Eating Hall.
