What is Burning Seed? A festival? A party? A DOOF? Nope, a burn.
Burning Seed is an experimental gathering that follows the ten guiding principles of Burning Man and is Australia’s largest regional burn. An event dedicated to creativity and collaboration, conceived, built and run by you, the community.
What will you find at Burning Seed? What won’t you find is probably a more accurate question! Art, music, performances, workshops and parties are just the beginning. If you can think of it, you can do it (within the Ten Principles of course). That’s the beauty of Burning Seed. There are no main stages and no headline acts, no paid musicians or performers - Burning Seed is a do-ocracy and a gifting economy and everything you see is created by our participants. So whether you want to play live music, host an epic party, gift lunches to hungry burners, run a workshop, run a theme camp or lead a discussion - you are only limited by your own creativity.
So what will you need to bring? What can you buy at this gathering? What is provided for you? At Burning Seed you will need to bring everything with you that you need to survive. That means all your water, food, clothing, costumes and entertainment. Why? Because Burning Seed is a decommodifcation event. This means that no money exchanges hands and there is nothing to buy. There is no marketplace, no stalls and no food vans. The only thing you can purchase is ice. Head over to our website and check out last years Survival Guide for more info.
