CTL Attends Khumbulani Pride: Pre-Pride Breakfast and Drive Together
Sat May 18, 08:00 - Sat May 18, 13:00
Road Lodge Cape Town International Airport
ABOUT
This event is very well organized and will be safe to attend. It is an important opportunity to show solidarity and add your voice to advocate for change.
CTL has also made the event more accessible by arranging a breakfast meetup spot, driving in convoy so nobody gets lost, and providing safe enclosed parking at Zolani Center. We also organised an extra car guard for those driving with CTL.
You can decide if you want to meet us for breakfast, only drive with us, or meet us there. (See free ticket options)
8:00 - Meet CTL for Breakfast at Road Lodge Cape Town International. They serve a buffet breakfast for R120 per person. This gives you a chance to get to know others and connect before driving through. We’ll also have CTL tshirts (featuring the image that is the logo for this group) available for R250 each.
9:15 - If you only want to drive through with us, meet us at Road Lodge Cape Town International and ensure you arrive by 9:15. Don’t be late. We are leaving at exactly 9:30. We won’t be able to wait for those who are late. If you arrive at 9:35 you will miss us.
10:00 - This is when you can meet us at Zonali Centre, Nyanga.
This is a schedule for the day's events:
As you can see there’s a long day’s schedule for tomorrow. You can decide if you’d like to join for all of it, or if you’re only joining for the March.
Bring along: Sunscreen, a hat, water, comfortable shoes to walk in

Khumbulani Pride 2024 sets the stage for an event that continues a tradition of engaging the LGBTQI+ community, allies, and stakeholders in the fight against injustices. By highlighting the ongoing struggles faced by the LGBTQI+ community, particularly injustices perpetrated by the justice system and heteronormative society, the event aims to raise awareness, foster solidarity, and advocate for change.
This event is organized by Cape Town Lesbians, but welcomes all LGBTQI+ folk and is open to everyone.
Note: We use the term "Lesbian" as an inclusive umbrella term. It is a label that helps you find a community, not a prescription of who is allowed in this space. This group welcomes and celebrates all sapphics, women who love women (including bisexuals and pansexuals), and all trans and gender non-binary folk.
