Rocking Horse, SA’s #1 Country-Rock Band, will be performing an exciting mix of Country, Rock and Blues at café Roux on Sunday 7 April 2024 @6pm!
The show repertoire will include Rocking Horse originals and classics from the singers and songwriters that influenced the band’s signature Rocking-country sound.
The café Roux audience will be treated to fan favourites like ‘Down South In New Orleans’ and ‘I Can’t Dance’ from the first two Rocking Horse albums, songs from their latest album ‘I Don’t Like Country Music … I Love It’ plus iconic compositions from Hank Williams, Kris Kristofferson, Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and more.
Rocking Horse was formed in Cape Town, in 1985, by brothers Clive Ridgway & Tony Ridgway. Clive (lead guitar and vocals) and Tony (lead vocals and guitar) will be accompanied on stage by veteran bass man Julian Mayer, keyboard wizard Tony Drake and percussionist Darren Drake.
Rocking Horse have a string of albums to their credit: “Someone Loves You Honey”, “All The Hits & More”, “The Best & The Rest”, “Rockabilly Band” and “Highway Going Nowhere”, “Rocking Horse – The Best Collection Volumes 1, 2, & 3” and ”I Don’t Like Country Music … I Love It!”. The band’s recorded music is available on all streaming and purchasing platforms through their music distributor ‘Next Music’.
