The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace - Karl Jenkins

Curro Century City Presents:

"The Armed Man" Composed by Karl Jenkins, a deeply moving and poignant composition that addresses the impact of war on humanity and the desire for peace. It combines elements of the traditional Latin mass with text from various religious and historical sources, including the Islamic call to prayer, the Bible, and the Mahabharata.

It moves through the stages of conflict, reflection, and ultimately, the hope for reconciliation and peace.

This work will be performed by Curro Century City High School and Primary School choirs as well as being joined by Tygerberg High School Girls and Boys Choirs as well as Edgemead High School Choir and a full symphonic orchestra.

Both Choirs and orchestra will be conducted by Dominic Swartz who is currently the Head of Music at Curro Century City.

The Programme for the evening will include:

1) Sibelius - Finlandia

2) Musthan - The Winter's Flare (Guitar Concerto)

3) Jenkins - The Armed Man
