Adv Jeandré Goliath, Maintenance Officer with a real heart for people and extremely passionate about his work and family law. Adv Goliath will be sharing the practical application in maintenance applications, starting from the very beginning with how to complete a J101 (Maintenance Application) and a J107 (Maintenance Substitution) form. 


Claudia Roodt, Social worker, trauma informed restorative facilitator and therapist (Designed to Connect): As a survivor of childhood trauma and domestic violence, she has dedicated her life to creating a world where the importance of healthy safe connections for brain, human development, and healing of trauma is understood, embraced, and practiced. She trains various sectors to educate the need for understanding the interplay between neuroscience and human behavior. Claudia has filmed her story called “The Gift of My Trauma.” She will be sharing her story on recovery from childhood trauma and domestic violence.


Liezel Cronje:  From Tears to Victor 

Hear the real life experience of the pitfalls and the success of maintenance court, through the journey of a single mother. Liezel will be sharing her story as a mother in the maintenance court and the challenges of being a single parent. She is an incredible mother who has juggled work, learning the law to enable her to be able to represent herself in court all while being a present parent to her son. 


Anneke Greyvenstein, Mediator and CoParenting App developer - Social Justice: 

Positive trends in Co-Parenting: keeping up with global advancements.

Anneke Greyvenstein has spent a good part of her professional career helping parents co-parent in an ever changing landscape of technology and family law, while maintaining the Best Interest of the Child at the heart of all her work. Learn about the advancements in Co-parent using an app, taking away the fuss and double guessing of co-parenting. 


Natalie Ruiters, Mediator - La Poppie Mediations, has a real passion for restoring and healing communities through working with families. 

Let's talk it out: discusses the conundrum of maintenance agreements not being addressed in Parenting Plans in the Children’s Court or other family courts. She will share how mediators can conclude maintenance agreements in parenting plans.


Laurie Greyvenstein, Mediator and trainer - Social Justice: 

Longer term lasting change: Laurie Greyvenstein has extensive experience in all spheres of the law as a prosecutor, magistrate and for the last 18 years in Alternative Dispute Resolution as Mediator, Parenting Coordinator & Restorative Justice practitioner. Laurie has made a number of contributions to Discussion Paper 157. Laurie Greyvenstein will be discussing a critical analysis of The South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC) paper 157 discussing mediation in maintenance matters and will give practical tips for mediators on how to draft maintenance agreements that family courts will accept. 


Theunis Scheepers, Facilitator and life coach - Integer Network, will be sharing on non-violent communication. Thenuis will be introducing a new way of perceiving the situation, so we are better able to respond consciously in a way that is likely to create mutual understanding (connection). In that understanding, we can make choices and take actions that are more likely to advance all of us, toward what matters to each of us.



The Babute Movement embodies it's name Babute meaning bring them together; we are a group of individuals and professionals wanting to make a change. With the generosity of our Volunteers, Guest Speakers, Quicket, Social Justice Foundation and Vredelust Gemeente; we are able to host these gatherings bringing closer those who need this space the most. We thank you, we are humbled to be joining hands with you in this movement.
