Vw Mk1 Rabbit Rebuild Dream

Hi all fellow car enthusiasts

As we all have our childhood dream of owning a built car and not bought is a hard reality... and so i have bought myself a 1971 mk1 2door rabbit golf 2 years ago and started the restoring process .

Loads of work already went into the shell from a complete rust removal and replacing the rear end as it was waay too rusted to save . As time went on and economy changed earning became harder and had to put the project on hold .

Its a sad wake up day everyday walking past Lola ( the mk1) coverd up and on hold for the rust cancer just to come back and would start the process all over again .

This brings me to start this fundraiser in hopes to keep this old school mk1 alive and hopefully to get her back on the roads showing off the beauty that it is .

At this current stage i am hoping to raise funds for the completetion of the body est @ R15k and to be sprayed up again , i also need few bits like 2 old school fenders ( can get new ones for about R1350 per fender ) fuel injected petrol tank ect ect ect

Current dream is to fit a 2lt 16v vw enginge from the mk2 golfs or jetta that can be sourced for about 15-20k and to be running on a dictator engine management

Please help me keep this dream alive and raise R60 000 to complete the build or any other donations like spares / enginge /dictator ect anything would be helpfull
