ABOUT
The Rand Airshow is held annually and provides visitors with displays, by the cream of the crop pilots, in aerobatics and precision flying.
There will be historic and modern aircrafts flying, as well as a business jet to mention a few. Helicopter flips will be on sale.

FAQ
GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
No access will be granted without a valid barcoded ticket. Tickets can also be purchased at the gates on the day. There will be a separate line at the main entrance for pre-paid tickets to gain easier access to the show. The flight display start at 10h00, but the entrance gates open from 07h00.
Only limited card facilities will be available for purchases on the day, so ensure you bring sufficient cash.
No shading i.e. gazebo’s or free standing umbrellas are allowed in, as they can obstruct other spectator’s view.
No fires or gas braais allowed. - this includes the car park areas.
No fireworks, balloons, self-propelled model aeroplanes or cars, flying toys, kites and frizbees, as these pose serious safety hazards to the pilots during their flight displays.
No unauthorised vehicles incl. motorcycles, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, etc are allowed to operate in the spectator areas.
No alcohol to be brought onto the premises. - bags may be searched. Alcohol will be for sale at The Harvard and beer tent.
Don’t litter - please use the many bins on the crowd barrier.
No members of the public are allowed to access the flight line or Control Tower. Other restricted areas include the fuel depot, Fire Services, private hangars and airport management offices. All private areas will require wrist bands to gain access.
Children remain the responsibility of their parents at all times, including at the kiddies entertainment area. Rand Airport does not accept responsibility for any injuries sustained as a result of making use of any of the rides and attractions.
The car guards on the road are not airport staff, they are private civilians. The airport therefore does not take responsibility for any of their actions. Please make use of the FREE parking at Germiston High School that has been provided and will be properly manned.
Special parking closer to the main terminal building will be made available for the handicapped, elderly and infirm – please contact us at [email protected] to arrange a vehicle permit to gain access to these areas.
DO BRING
Cooler bags, blankets, own food, snacks and/or refreshments.
Chairs - seating is not provided, but you can sit at the beer tent and won’t be required to make a purchase to do so.
Sunscreen and hats – the day can get hot and long and there are cases of sun stroke and dehydration every year. There will be a treatment area for medical emergencies, but prevention is always better than cure.
