Joya Mooi ( NL ):

Uniting hazy sonic tales with sweet melodies and powerful lyrics, Joya Mooi is an unstoppable force. The singer has created her own hybrid of trappy R&B and dream pop, embodying stories from her past and present. With roots in the Netherlands and South Africa, she’s devoted to share her own honest take on the world, to contribute to a more just future.

Her latest EP ‘Blossom Carefully’ features stunning songs about freedom and spirituality and has received widespread support from BBC Radio 1Xtra to CLASH and Okayplayer, earning international nominations for her striking music video Bitter Parts. With a beautiful ease, Joya Mooi’s music is destined to flourish.

Luh'ra ( CPT ):

Luh’ra is a singer/songwriter based in Cape Town. Accompanied by her golden guitar, her music can be described as Indie Soul. Imbued with emotional resonance and tranquil melodies, sharing personal feelings and moments in her lyrics, she encourages listeners to reflect on their own experiences. An advocate for vulnerability, Luh’ra has been gently sharing her music since 2017.

Her fascination with space and design has led her to host and perform at many events in interesting locations, such as the aquarium, galleries, plant shops or boutique stores. Through her use of aesthetics and sound, she transforms these spaces into new worlds for her audience to explore. She is often collaborating with other artists across various many mediums. Together they weave the strands of her imagination together and bring dreamy realities to life.

Early 2019 she completed a nationwide tour funded by Concerts SA to promote her debut EP, Luh’ra Luv. The project was true to the style in which Luh’ra chooses to present her music - collaborating to create an audio-visual body of work.

Despite the obstacles placed within the music industry in 2020, Luh’ra saw this as a time to step up to the challenge and get creative. She found herself performing for audiences around the world as the music industry adjusted to livestreaming. With each performance, creating complimenting sets, the gentle nature of her music translated seamlessly into homes globally through platforms like Johannesburg’s Feel Good Series, Beruitjam sessions, Listen to NY, UK’s Generation W online festival and globally streamed The Good Times x Aloe Aloe Bandsintown Fusion.
