ABOUT

Paulo Costa is a Brazilian musician, singer and composer. His initiation in music came through his family at church, first playing Clarinet, then Guitar, Bass Clarinet and Saxophone. At the age of 17, he started performing with artists and bands. In 2012, Paulo travelled to South Africa for the first time to fall in love. After 5 years of “transition”, he finally moved to Cape Town where he joined the music scene, first collaborating with various local artists and then starting his own project. He released his first album “Another Life” in 2019, with original compositions influenced mainly by Samba & Jazz. In the middle of 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, Paulo started the project “Oceanico”. Produced by Hellaby House, the project’s first album is due to be released in September, a collaboration between 13 musicians from South Africa and Brazil. Now, joined by some of the best musicians in Cape Town, he comes to present a repertoire of original compositions and interpretations of Brazilian renowned songs.
