Keep the magic of theatre alive!

About

ENCHANTING - INSPIRING - EMPOWERING!

Attending a live theatre performance is a magical and memorable experience for young children, but it is so much more! Theatre encourages children to learn from seeing life on stage, teaches them to imagine the unimaginable and cultivates curiosity. Theatre helps connect the head to the heart!

National Children’s Theatre has been bringing joy, laughter and memorable moments to thousands families and children over the years, and especially over these last two years, providing a safe space and an educational/artistic outlet.

In 2021, we gave away 2,000 tickets to children's homes and charities to attend our shows at our outdoor theatre and invited them to see our shows, we offered bursaries to over 20 underprivileged children to attend our weekly workshops and employed 25 young actors to perform in our productions.

The effects of COVID have brought challenges to many organisations, and Joburg's much loved children’s theatre needs your help! SUPPORT US SO WE CONTINUE TO BRING THE MAGIC OF THEATRE TO CHILDREN AND FAMILIES!

For the last 30 years we have strived to transform lives through theatre, offering professional shows, workshops, holiday camps, life-skills and educational outreach programmes to disadvantaged communities. We have impacted communities by bringing the magic of theatre to under-privileged communities, bringing awareness to the youth on many sensitive topics through our social plays, uplifting the youth by creating employment.

We count on you to help us and donate so we can continue to implement our programmes - including touring to schools with The Revealers, an anti-bullying play, and Innocence Lost, a play about child trafficking - and impact many children's lives.
