Summit Place Guest House
ABOUT
Iconic folk band Blacksmith dates back to the early 1970's, beginnings at the Four Winds Folk Club in PE, continuing in Cape Town from 1975. Founding members Neil Harvey (guitar, harmonica, mandolin and vocals) and Nielen Prinsloo (banjo, guitar, mandolin, upright bass and vocals) can still be found delighting young and old in some of Cape Town's most picturesque settings. More often than not they are joined by multi-talented young singer-songwriter Emma Rycroft (from folk group Gravel Road) on vocals, guitar and double bass.
Their music style has drifted towards pure acoustic and their repertoire meanders between Bluegrass, Country, Gospel, English, Irish and Scottish Traditional, a capella Rap, Modern and Ancient Pop, Hard Rock and Boeremusiek, a reflection of a band that has been going for over 40 years.
Back to the present, on any given occasion they are joined by other members of folk group Gravel Road to provide pure acoustic sounds to lift your soul!
Summit Place Guest House is located in the heart of the tranquil Constantia Valley Winelands. Apart from offering relaxed self-catering accommodation, their beautiful garden lends itself perfectly to chilled sundowner happenings.
