ABOUT

The One About Recognising Privilege, Combatting Racism And Changing The World With Layla Saad

Layla F. Saad is a New York Times and Sunday Times bestselling author, anti-racism educator, international speaker, and podcast host on the topics of race, identity, leadership, personal transformation and social change.

Back in 2018, Layla offered up an Instagram challenge that became a self-published digital workbook, downloaded by more than 100 000 people. This project eventually led to the publishing of the ground-breaking Me And White Supremacy - an extraordinarily insightful, yet conversational in tone, anti-racism workbook and journal.

The book debuted on the New York Times and USA Today bestsellers lists and is also an Amazon and Wall Street Journal bestseller. Her work has been brought into homes, educational institutions and workplaces around the world that are seeking to create personal and collective change – and we are thrilled to be in conversation with her about her book and her thoughts and perspective on delving into this sticky topic in such a constructive way.

Layla is an East African, Arab, British, Black, Muslim woman who was born and grew up in the West, and now lives in Middle East. Her work is driven by her powerful desire to become a good ancestor; to live and work in ways that leave a legacy of healing and liberation for those who will come after she is gone. Layla lives in Doha, Qatar with her husband and two children.
